The sound has not been very effectively used, which is surprising since Batman is an action game. The graphics are adequate. The animated introductory clip, the animations in the Batman and the Joker symbols and some of the animations in the bonus games are excellent.

Batman is one of the most popular superheroes and this is bound to be a popular theme. The execution of the theme leaves nothing to be desired. Batman fans will find every detail to their liking. All the symbols on the reels are intricately linked to the Batman legend. The conflict between Batman and the Joker is started in the introductory clip itself. It carries on through the spins and culminates in the bonus feature. This slot game has been total justice to the Batman brand.

Batman is slightly lacking in the use of the wild and scatter symbols. The wild symbol does not offer any payouts nor does it multiply payouts. Also it does not appear on all five reels. Its major advantage is that it appears as stacked wilds. The scatter symbol is constrained to appear left to right and is therefore not really a scatter symbol. However, these drawbacks are largely made up by the bonus features. Both the Batman re-spins feature and the Descent into Madness feature are excellent. The innovative Bonus Bet is the icing on the cake.
