Cryptologic and 888 Extend Licensing Deal

Two pioneers of the online gaming industry, the software provider Cryptologic and the online casino 888, had entered into a 36 month licensing agreement by which some Cryptologic games were made available on 888 group of casinos. These include 888, Casino-on-Net, Pacific Poker, 888 ladies and 888 sport. Both parties have expressed satisfaction with the way things have progressed. Hence they have agreed to extend the deal to thirteen games. As a result of this extended deal three more popular Cryptologic games are now available at 888 and further additions are expected shortly. The three new Cryptologic casino games that have been added to the 888 repertoire are Fantastic Four and Spider-Man from the Marvel Superhero slots series and Bejeweled from the Casual Game series. The Marvel Superhero characters are trademarks of Marvel Entertainment Inc. and online slots based on these characters have been developed by Cryptologic under agreement with Marvel Entertainment. Bejeweled is an online slots game based on a popular online game of the same name.

The original deal, signed in May 2008 for three games, was a win-win deal for both Cryptologic and 888. Cryptologic games would get exposure on one of the oldest and largest online casinos and 888 members would get to play some of the best online games. Brian Hadfield, Cryptologic's President and Chief Executive Officer while announcing the deal said, "Today's announcement is consistent with Cryptologic's strategy to partner with the world's biggest and best gaming brands." He added that 888's reputation, established player base and global marketing strength when combined with Cryptologic's innovative games would provide added value to the online player. Gigi Levy, the Chief Executive Officer of 888 was equally enthusiastic. He said that it was the intention of 888 "to introduce a diversified offering to existing and new players, worldwide". The integration of Cryptologic games into its system was a part of meeting this objective. 888 is a unique online gaming portal in that it does not run on a single software. It uses several software providers including its own proprietary software. What brought these to organizations together is the fact that neither accepts players from the United States.

Both Cryptologic and 888 have been conferred many awards by the online gaming industry. This year CryptoLogic won Gambling Online Magazine's Top Casino Software award for the third time running. This award is a popular award based on votes from online players. 888 won three awards at the eGaming Awards 08, including that for the Best Casino Operator.
