Cryptologic Acquires Online Casino Licenses

Notwithstanding that the process of Amaya Gaming acquiring Cryptologic is in progress, the online gaming software provider is protecting its position in the market. It has just announced the acquisition, for nominal consideration, the gaming licenses for two popular online casinos from OIGE CG Ltd, which has been a long-standing customer. The online casinos are InterCasino and VIP Casino. OIGE had obtained licenses for operating these online casinos from the Lotteries and Gaming Authority of Malta. The transfer of licenses has been cleared by the regulatory authority.

A separate, but identically worded, statement has been released by both the online casinos. The statements say that the licenses are now held by a new licensed entity Cryptologic Operations Ltd. Cryptologic Operations has been described as a sister company of OIGE and a member of the same group of companies. Since the license remains on the same software platform there will be no player account changes taking place and the players' ECash accounts will remain the same. The statement further adds that the terms and conditions of the online casinos have been amended to reflect this change. Continuing wagering at the online casinos will signify the awareness and acceptance of the organizational changes by the players. Players who have any concerns can contact the online casinos anytime.

The exact reason for making what is described as cosmetic changes is not known. But if it has been done to preserve InterCasino then it is worth it. InterCasino is the world's first online casino launched in 1996. In these 15 years it has held its own against the newer and slicker online casinos and built on its brand loyalty. VIP Casino was launched a few years later in 1996.

The message from InterCasino is accompanied by a personal message from Tony Hayes, the Casino Manager. At the outset he wishes all players a very happy and prosperous New Year on behalf of the InterCasino team. He thanks the players for their continued patronage. He says, "InterCasino just wouldn't be the same without your support!" Hayes then promises that in 2012 InterCasino will delight, surprise, and reward its players with even more new games, as well as a wealth of fantastic promotions and special offers.

The games release has been a bit disappointing in 2011 in terms of quantity but not quality. However players can have no complaints with the promotions. These have been topical and have offered fantastic prizes. The most recent Countdown to 2012 promotion has just ended on January 2. Earlier players were sent to New Zealand to witness the final of the Rugby World Cup.
