Progressive jackpot online slots are very popular but some such online slots are more popular than others. A reasonable method of assessing the popularity of progressive slot games is by tracking the amount of wagering being done on them. The jackpot tickers of some of the highest jackpots were tracked over the last five days to assess which of the jackpot slot games are currently drawing the heaviest traffic. The jackpots selected were MegaJackpots, Mega Moolah, Jackpot Pinatas, Beach Life, Aztec's Millions and Shopping Spree. It is not inconceivable that some of the other jackpots that are running at much lower amounts have registered higher traffic.
Playtech’s flagship progressive jackpot Beach Life topped the list. Over the last five days it registered an average increase of over 25,000 units per day. In this five day period the jackpot amount rose by almost 10%. The progressive jackpot ticker is currently around the 1.5 million mark. At this rate players are looking at a jackpot of 3 million within two months. Next on the list was Microgaming’s Mega Moolah. Starting at around 2.28 million five days ago Mega Moolah has grown by almost 12,000 units per day. In percentage terms the jackpot has increased by 2.5%.
These two progressive jackpot online slot games are far above the rest as far as current wagering is concerned. The reason is also apparent. In the last one year both the jackpots have registered three hits each. As compared to this some of the other jackpots have hit only once and some have not been hit over the last one year. Therefore the expectation that Beach Life and Mega Moolah will hit soon is higher and this leads to greater wagering on these slot games. The question also arises as to why the wagering on Beach Life is so much more than that on Mega Moolah. There are no clear-cut answers. One possibility is that Beach Life is closer to its average payout than Mega Moolah and this is raising the expectations of an imminent hit.
MegaJackpots of WagerWorks is the largest progressive jackpot at 2.4 millions. And the fact that it tracked in British pounds and not in US dollars makes the amount even larger on an equated scale. However the average wagering over the last five days on this progressive slot network has been less than 2000 units per day. MegaJackpots was last hit about a year and a half ago for 2 million units. Yet it is not drawing much interest. The reason could be lower traffic on and the lower reach of the WagerWorks network.
The other three progressive jackpot online slots considered are from Realtime Gaming. The average daily wagering on these slots has been less than 1000 units per day. These three jackpots do not have the kind of hits history that Beach Life or Mega Moolah have and this is probably the reason that they are not as popular.
